Personal Record – Slowest

Setting New Running Records! – Slowest 15+ mile runs!

Yep that’s right I am setting records this year for my slowest times ever!  I just keep telling myself that I only care about getting in the miles and that the weather will be cooler and better for October!

I had a few runs, on cooler days that were in the 11:30 minute range, not bad still very respectable — but considering I was more of a nine minute/mile half kinda gal and I did my first, and only ‘real’ marathon, around 10:20 per mile… yeah…

While this past Friday, the day it was supposed to rain all day but didn’t for the southern areas of Milwaukee I set a whole new record of 12:08 per mile, and not only did I set this new record but I was exhausted ALL DAY after running.  It was so hot and humid that areas that have rarely to never have had chafing or caused problems – were slightly sore!   Runners everywhere won’t be disgusted with me when I say – for only the 2nd time ever my butt crack even was a little pink from the rub’age!   For the rest of you, sorry!

By mile 12 I was getting tired and ready to walk, but since for this 17 mile run, that was supposed to rain, I decided to only run 10 miles so I could limit the treadmill down to 7 miles.  The weather as I ran thru Cudahy was good… South Milwaukee… still clear sky’s so I ended up making it almost 7 miles out and then back.  By the time I was back around home court I had over 13.5 miles in.  Ran up the street and back, 14.5 miles.  Ran to the St Francis Seminary grounds (which BTW are normally shady, breezing and have very few people), but even there and back to home court only had me just over 16 miles… ARRRGHHH I needed one mile… I was SO tempted to be done, but then the ‘I got this far, I am finishing this’ attitude kicks in!  I may have looked like I was in SLOW motion, I may have had almost around a 13 minute mile, but I finished mile 17 running!

Time – pish… I FINISHED 17 (unmotivated) MILES!

I think that will be the new thing motivated miles vs unmotivated miles… but I will #runwiththemarines #MCM here I come, virtually 2020!

So for everyone else out there struggling this weirdo year, just keep it up!  Doesn’t matter if you wait for me, or I wait for you, I’ll see you at the finish line!    #JustRUNt
